Positions
The Ahmad Lab often has openings for highly motivated and talented postdoctoral fellows, graduate students interested in pursuing a Ph.D., and undergraduate and high school students seeking research opportunities. Please contact Dr. Ahmad if you are interested.
Postdoctoral Fellows
Candidates interested in postdoctoral positions in the Ahmad Lab should be highly motivated and capable of working independently, possess a strong background in genetics, genomics, molecular biology, cell biology, or bioinformatics/computational biology, and have first author papers in mainstream journals. Eligibility for independent funding is desirable.
Graduate Students
Prospective graduate students interested in pursuing a Ph.D. in the Ahmad Lab should posses a strong undergraduate knowledge of genetics, molecular biology, and/or developmental biology with some lab experience. Since the Biology Department at Indiana State University does not presently offer laboratory rotations, interested individuals should contact Dr. Ahmad to determine whether they might be a good fit for the laboratory before applying to the graduate program.
Undergraduate Students
Undergraduates interested in pursuing research in the Ahmad Lab should contact Dr. Ahmad. Note that undergraduate research positions in our lab are not sinecures, and serious research efforts are expected of those who are accepted.
High School Students
Advanced and talented high school students interested in pursuing challenging college-level research projects should contact Dr. Ahmad. Prospective applicants should be aware that research in the Ahmad lab requires a significant time commitment.
